Environmental Management of Dredging and Construction Works around Coral Reefs
A technical report on ‘Dredging and Port Construction around Coral Reefs’ has recently been released by the PIANC Working Group 108, chaired by Tom Foster from DHI Singapore. Matthew Jury from DHI Singapore was also a member of the working of group, and many DHI colleagues have contributed to the document.
The report was developed in co-operation with the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP).
It forms the international guideline for implementing best practices of environmental assessment and management of dredging and port construction around shallow warm water coral reefs.
“After more than four years of hard work, I think we can all feel very proud of our contribution to this international guideline”, says Matthew Jury, Head of Environmental Services at DHI Singapore.
