The company INECO-TIFSA has chosen DHI to undertake a study of the potential scour risk at pillars and abutments of 31 railways bridges. The project is undertaken for ADIF, the administrator of the spanish railway infrastructures, and forms part of the programs undertaken by this entity in order to enhance the safety og the railway network. The works contain field inspections and interpretation of the morphodynamics at each bridge location and studies, based on mathematical modelling, of the effect of the hydraulic regime on the river morphology, especially concerning the bridge site. The studies will proportion an evaluation of the risc of scour at the bridges.
